His old master told him as much, and Newert believes, and devotes his time to learning the spell-songs and attempting to journey to another world and bring back their magic to preserve the wood. When he actually does manage to change worlds, the entire course of his life shifts.

Thoughts: 

For younger readers, I didn’t much care for the story at first. After a few pages, however, it shakes off some of the stifling ”cutesy-ness” and gets down to an amusing romp. The resolution is a bit bland, but this story will probably appeal to children.
